I am an artist
Listening to the sound of the rain
Piecing together segments of memory
Looking for pauses in the space between the raindrops
There I find moments of pure meditation
The silence reveals the sound
Together the sound and the silence speak to me
Weaving together a story–a pattern of remembrances
It is in this space that the past becomes the future
This is the now of forever
I am standing in the center of time
The energy of transformation runs through me
I am an artist making marks
and making meaning
Telling my story
Following the thread of my soul
What color is the rain?
I am a seeker
My eyes cannot find the answer
I respond instead from a place deep within my being
Beneath each breath
There beats a heart
Steady and strong
Brave and full of hope
Mine is a story of wisdom
Mine is a story of change
Mine is a story of resilience and beauty
