An Artist’s Prayer of Thanks

~The energy that moves through me, stirring my body, mind and spirit

~The strength of my hands and fingers, that instinctively shape the fiber of my ideas into form

~My eyes, that have the ability to remember every color that I’ve ever seen

~My heart, cracked wide open and full of love

~My mind, a garden…ever curious and enamored of ideas, both in seed form and full bloom

~My intuition, a sixth-sense, a knowingness, a communion with the energy around me

~Space…the space between thoughts and between each breath

~Silence…within and without, leading me back to center

~God’s guidance…sometimes gentle, other times insistent, always present

~My voice…as a vibration and a visual expression

~Community…the stories we share nourish and sustain me

~Love…of self, of family, of friends, of human-kind…it is the most artistic act of all, our essence and true reason for being
